Reveal Day at SOUS

Why Hello!!

Where did two weeks go?

It's Reveal Day over at Stuck On U Sketches....

We had a great sketch by Liz Qualman to play with,

and boy did I have fun with this one......

I have used Echo Park 'Victoria Gardens' Collection papers

and these beautiful photo's of gorgeous granddaughter Rebekah (again).

I think this is the third time I have done a layout with these photo's

they are so 'perfect......'

Some fussy cutting - the roses on the papers are beautiful.....

Flowers from Green Tara....

Ribbon trim also from Green Tara....

Leaves from Bazzill using the 'Flowers, Branches & Leaves'

die from Sizzix.....

American Thickers for the title.....

And the wee pull out tag at the top, cut from the papers....

The wee tiny roses from my stash.....

Perfect....

This is the last challenge for September over at the SOUS Blog,

so this is your last chance to take part and be in the draw to win the

fabulous prize being sponsord by Flying Unicorn.....

So, head over to Stuck On U Sketches,

create a layout from the sketch, and we'll

drop by your blog and say Hi.....

Take a look at the great prize on offer this

month while you're there....

*************************

Meanwhile, over at the Scrappy Go Lucky Blog,

Mandy has changed the format....

The DT used to have dedicated days to post, but,

life has taken over as usual, and daily postings were just

too hard to keep up with, for everyone involved....

So, Walkabout Wednesday has been put to rest,

and projects will be posted every few days instead....

The DT remains the same, we just won't be having daily posts....

Thus, yesterday Mandy posted my latest home decor projects,

which you would have seen on the wall of my Scrappy Room,

a few posts ago....

Here are sneak peeks of the projects.....

Head over to Scrappy Go Lucky for all the details

and more photo's.....

You will have also noticed that I haven't posted myself

for a couple of weeks.....

Life has gotten pretty hectic, and to be honest,

blogging is so time consuming, that I have decided to

take a leaf out of my close blogging friend Curt's book....

I will now only post on a Friday....

Alternate posts will obviously be the

Stuck On U Sketches Reveal Day,

and the in between Fridays - well, let's see what materialises....

Thanks for dropping in, it is good to see you....

Hugs - 'til next Friday

SOUS DT Reveal

My favourite day, Friday, and reveal day over at Stuck On U Sketches....

I love this layout of Darling Granddaughter Erin, and had fun putting it together....

The sketch this week is from Alda Stevens over at Flying Unicorn, who is also sponsoring this month's giveaway for all participants of SOUS September sketches and die cut challenges - see end of post for details....

The sketch....

This was a beautiful sketch to work with and the "Uncommon" collection of Authentique papers were perfect for the style...

A lot of fussy cutting and distressing, but no inking....

The lace and pearls strip is by Recollections "Boutique Fleur", which I bought in the Michael's Store in Los Angeles, in January. Knew it would be perfect for something, and it goes well with the tones in the paper collection....

The little flowers are Prima and the large pink flower at bottom left is from Green Tara....

I cut the black flourishes on Cricut, Home Decor cart at 2 inches....

A handmade (not by me...LOL) crochet doily to finish....

I changed the photo to black and white, which I don't usually do, and I'm quite happy with the result....

Erin has beautiful blue eyes, but they totally clashed with the papers.....hee hee....

The black and white does lend a softer feel to the page....

Here is the giveaway sponsored by Alda Stevens over at Flying Unicorn - so make sure you participate this month of September to be in with a chance....

Here's the link again to the sketch at SOUS.... LINK

Looking forward to visiting your blogs and seeing your interpretations of the sketch....

Til next time......

Hugs

Birthday Card & Walkabout Wednesday

It's that time of year again...

My friend's birthday back in Scotland....

This is the card I made for her this year....

In its own little box....

The Groovy Granny stamp is one my gorgeous little granddaughter bought for me (with the help of Mummy of course) and I have finally gotten the chance to use it...

The stamp is by Crafter's Companion....

I have coloured the image with Distress Inks, no fancy colouring here....

Inked all the edges with Victorian Velvet....

I paper pieced the dress, first time I've tried that.....

Image frame cut with Nestabilities....

Prima flower. Ribbon from stash. And into a tissue paper lined box, decorated with the same papers - which I forgot to ink....LOL

The inside of the card reads -

From one Groovy Granny to another

Happy Birthday Patricia

Next up is a sneak peek of this week's post over at Scrappy Go Lucky....

I have used a double A4 sketch from Becky Fleck and Elegant Edges cartridge....

The photo is of Mandy and Diane arriving at Winter CHA at the LA Convention Center....

Hop on over to the Scrappy Go Lucky Blog for more photo's and all the details....

Hope to see you there....

Until Friday...

Hugs

Tattered Inspirations

Have I got something pretty to show you today....

I received this beautiful package in the mail a couple of weeks ago - an order I had placed with an etsy store called - Tattered Inspirations....

The presentation and extra little things attached to the packaging made it feel that wee bit extra special....

Tattered Inspirations is run by the gorgeous Carol Mead over in Canberra, and the etsy shop is HERE....

There is also a blog - HERE....

Carol makes mini kits for scrapbooking and cardmaking.....

This is what came in my package.....

Here's a few close ups....

I have opened one of the kits to show what is included....

Carol makes the stick pins herself.....

All the elements are gorgeous, from the ribbons, buttons, crochet doilies, cameos, tickets, and cards. And each little kit is so co-ordinated....

I had to use one straight away....

So, this first kit I have used is called "Gabriella Mini Kit"

Here are all the bits included....

And, this is what I came up with. Layout took me about an hour to put together - speed scrapping....LOL

ALL the embellishments on the page are from this gorgeous little kit....

The papers are Kaiser "Duchess" collection....

With a Kaiser rub-on for the title....

The floral lace circle the stick pin is attached to started out like this (below)....

I just stitched along the lower edge (with a plain running stitch), and then pulled it tight on itself - voila!! Then stuck the pin in....

The beautiful cameo......

Must admit, these were what drew me in in the first place.....

The beautiful lace, tiny rose and one of the cards.....

Closer view of the rolled flower and crochet doily.....

And the gorgeous stick pin, again....

Photo is Darling Granddaughter Rebekah when she was just 4 months old.....

So, there we have it, a quick layout, with all the elements already selected and co-ordinated, just choose your papers, and go.....

Hope to get another layout done soon using one of these great little kits.....

Meanwhile, DT obligations pending.....

Be back soon....

Hugs
