SOUS # 4

Here is sketch # 4 over at www.stuckonusketches.blogspot.com

And here is my interpretation of it....

I have used SEI 'Alpine Frost' papers....

The title was cut on Cricut from the Storybook cart at 1 1/2 inches....

The tab inserts from Graphically Speaking at 5 1/4 inches, with two of the smaller tabs reduced in width on Design Studio....

The layout without the tabs in situ....

Was able to get an extra 7 photographs onto the layout and quite a bit of journaling...

The story of 'Santa Street' - click on the picture to enlarge it to read....

I actually found this quite a hard sketch to work from - the papers nearly did the page themselves in the end. All I changed was the positioning of the photograph, because of the direction DGD #1 is facing - didn't want her looking out of the layout....

These photo's were taken Christmas Eve 2008 - the photo's are not the best, I have no delusions that because I scrap I am suddenly a great photographer....

The lights are way more brilliant than these photo's give justice to - the street is absolutely amazing - maybe one day I will venture into the world of the SLR....

So, on December 24th 2009, we will be off to Santa Street again - maybe this years photo's will do the decorations and lights justice, but somehow I think not....

Watch this space....

'Til next time....

Thanks for dropping by and all the lovely comments I love reading....

SOUS # 3

Here I am with my take on the 3rd sketch over at www.stuckonusketches.blogspot.com

And - I'm not too late for MckLinky..... Yay .......

I have used MME (My Mind's Eye) papers - the spider's web collection - aren't they gorgeous, just perfect for a scary photo - way scary photo!!!!! ........LOL

The small rectangles of paper down the left side of the photo were cut from the packaging - I bought this range as a pack - gives you a sheet of each double sided paper in the range and a full sheet of tags and embellishments - excellent value - so, the sheet on the front of the package, with the little pictures of each sheet within the pack was perfect to chop up for this layout - so much for using up my stash - now I'm using the packaging as well !!!!!!!

The spider's web was cut at 5" on Cricut from Paper Doll Dress Up (PDDU) cartridge and the wee spider at 3 1/2" (PDDU) using Jac paper and then glittered green. I had wanted to make him an orange spider, but, did I have orange glitter, NOOOO.
I thought, I'll wait til tomorrow to finish and go and buy orange glitter. Then, I thought, no, I'll miss MckLinky again - too risky......

So, he's a green spider - just noticed, damn, I meant to put googly eyes on him - so, you'll have to imagine him with googly eyes - way scary, just like the scary photo of DGD #1 from Hallowe'en 2008....

This was the best photo taken - two year olds don't like photo's....

The pumpkins were cut at 4" (PDDU) and the crow at 3 1/2" (PDDU) - isn't he a cute crow....

The title is computer generated and the 'trick or treat' stamp is Making Memories - Spellbound set ....

DD has DGD's costume for this Hallowe'en, but won't let me see it (how mean) - so I'll have to wait for a couple of weeks - so I have no idea....

Meanwhile - I'm away out to buy orange glitter......

Just in case......

SOUS - Too Late!!

This is my take on the second sketch over at www.stuckonusketches.blogspot.com

However - I am too late to submit.....

Here come the excuses.....

The beginning of the week was work, my shifts are all over the place, including weekends, as a nurse we never work the same shifts two weeks in a row (why has nursing always been this way) - and by the middle of the week I was beginning to suffer from the flu......

I just felt so awful, stuffed head, aching muscles, just couldn't get it together at all - so spent a couple of days in bed feeling really sorry for myself, as one does, and then voila, finished the layout, and Mr Linky was closed.....

So, I thought, seeing as how I actually managed to finish it, I would post it here anyway.

The papers are MME Front Porch collection.

The title was cut on Cricut using Cursive 101 at 1 1/2"
The two flourishes are from Home Decor at 2 1/2" and 3".

The scalloped frame around the photo was from an old Sizzix die which I put through my Big Shot.

I am now going to get started on sketch # 3 before anything happens.....

Lime Tart Challenge

Notice the wee blinkie on the left?? I could have finished four layouts in the time it took me to get that thing onto my blog - still very much a novice in the techie world - no mind....

It's from Lime Tart - the kits I subscribe to every month (or should I say the pizza boxes that are piling up that contain the most gorgeous and delectable products in them)....

I am currently working on my May kits - so I am getting there SLOWLY....

Well, anyway, they now have a Challenge Tuesday, and the current PRIZE up for grabs is the

NOVEMBER FULL TART KIT......

Now we subscribers haven't seen it yet (duh, it's October - well, I think it is, time just goes sooooo fast - what is it 10 weeks to Christmas AAAAARGGGHHHH)

But, what I can tell you is that every single kit I have received this year has been fantastic - taking me out of my box with amazing papers and complementary embellishments, including wood block stamps, ribbons, buttons, flowers, etc all beautifully co-ordinated - just what a busy scrapper needs....

So head on over to the Zest Blog and enter this weeks challenge....

Lime Tart Cards # 2

Here I am with my second lot of cards made entirely from the scraps of my Lime Tart April kits...

For these cards I went to the card sketch site at www.mojomonday.blogspot.com for inspiration - scrolling back to their April sketches....

And this is what I came up with....

The first sketch was dated 6th April....

and my take on it - not too keen on the papers - but I wasn't going to throw them out....

Second sketch is from 13th April....

Sketch 3 dated 20th April....

Next sketch dated from 27th April....

And then onto the May sketches ('cause there were only four Monday's in April!!) - this one from 4th May....

And the last of the sketches dated 11th May....

Finally, a card made without a sketch - I had these last two pieces of paper and the stickers remaining - nothing that fitted into a sketch - so I just put them together with my last flower and leaf from the kit - and came up with this - used every last drop!!!!!

Hope you like them, not too sure of some of them, but hey, used up the bits....
On a final note - I have been given an award by the beautiful Sandy over at www.detailsbysandy.blogspot.com will post it next visit - in the meantime Sandy, thank you xx
Already working on Lime Tart May kits - would you believe the October kit is now here - do you think I will ever catch up?????
Also working on a layout for the new sketch site at http://www.stuckonusketches.blogspot.com/ - using up my stash - way cool - go have a look....
So until next time,

Stuck On U Sketches

Hi everybody, this is a new avenue for me, I have decided to play along with a brand new sketch site Stuck On U Sketches and this is my layout for their very first sketch...

It is a weekly sketch challenge, and I am hoping it will get me to use some of my stash....

I have had this Basic Grey Two Scoops paper forever (when did this range come out), always saving it for just the right photo....

So, this is the right photo - DGD #1 turned 3 in August and I adore this photograph of her, she was sitting patiently waiting for her birthday cake to arrive....

Hope you like it, and pop over to Stuck On U Sketches and maybe have a go too....
Til next time

Lime Tart - April #3

Here I am again with the last of the three Lime Tart kits from April - the Half Tart kit....

Again, I have added nothing to the layouts except what was provided in the kit - I managed two layouts....

This first one is DGD #1 on the way to the park with DH - Grumpy!! She calls us Granny and Grumpy.... You will need to click on the photo to read the title, which is on the file card at the top of the photo...

The work PARK was cut on the Cricut using the Pooh Font Set cartridge at 1 3/4" ....

The file card was cut from Graphically Speaking at 2" - the Great Outdoors was also cut from GS at 4 1/2".....

The tree was cut from Tinkerbell & Friends at 4" - the tree is cut from the most beautiful velvet paper - so I used the positive on this first layout and the negative on the second layout - could not bear to throw it out - it has a lovely plush feel to it, sadly not evident in these photo's....

The second layout is DGD #1 and Grumpy at the park....

Had to use the wee trees again (see last post at King's Park), with the EK Success punch - too cute....

I didn't know what to do with the brads in the kit, so I used them in the holes of the faux buttons.... different...

So, there we have it - will post the cards I managed from the scraps - 7 in total - in the next post xx
Look forward to 'seeing' you then,
