Wedding Card

Oh dear, the picture is a bit fuzzy, not very good at this. A simple wedding card made with Cristina Re paper, mulberry paper and a Melissa Frances topper, backed onto Bazzill Bling cardstock.
Simple, but elegant. Much nicer in real life, the papers have a beautiful shimmer.
All for today, I've got the flu - woe is me, LOL

Unique

Good morning from Perth WA, wow, yesterday was a day and a half. I ended up working til 10pm last night with our 12hr crop, did get a few hours off in the middle of the day, having started at 9am!!
Such a busy wee store, but the croppers had a good time and completed some wonderful projects. Start this morning at 10am, so just time to post before I go.
This is a layout I did some time ago with the Basic Grey 'Two Scoops' range, of DD when I took her to London for her 18th. I have loads of photo's of that trip, the usual tourist stuff, but have I scrapped them yet? No!! LOL!!
Just realised the title of this layout is the same as the owl page from Friday, told you I was hopeless at titles, but at least they are of different people - DD and DGD - so that's OK..
Off to get ready for work, will visit your blog tonight, TFL

The CUTEST owl

This is the layout that went down a treat at Cricut Club yesterday. I kept it very simple to showcase the cutest owl in the scrapping world at the moment (in my opinion), and there are a lot of owls out there.
The owls, tree and little bluebirds were cut from the Happily Ever After cartridge, the font from Pooh Font cartridge, love everything Disney.
Will pop a photo of DGD on the layout in the future, but I like to try and do my Cricut Club projects without photos so the girls can visualise their own photos in the space. Will post some more of my Cricut creations in the future.
Have had a lovely day off and contemplating work for the weekend, both Sat and Sun. We have a store wide sale on for the weekend, so will be busier than usual, and a 12hr crop tomorrow, what joy LOL.
Off to scrap for a couple of hours TFL

Ballgown

Quick post this evening, in between classes.
DD in her ball gown, she's a beautiful girl (Mother bragging rights!!). This was again before she was married and had DGD.
Just going to have dinner and rush back to shop for second class of the day. My Cricut club has proven so popular, we have to split it into two. So full on day for me today.
Everybody at the club today loved my owl page (will post it tomorrow) and I spent the morning cutting 10" trees with the Expression - what a lovely way to spend the day LOL.
Will see what the evening class cricuteers think of it. Back tomorrow. Thanks for visiting - Love Jane

Adore

Love this layout of DD and DGD, using Creative Imaginations 'Collections' love all the papers and embellishments in this range, it's just my cup of tea.
Now, I was tagged by a fellow Scots(wo)man this morning, thanks Ann, I was quite chuffed, but, as usual, I was rushing out the door to work, so I will now tag five more people, hope they don't mind too much - Jenae (the BOSS), Angie, Curt, Peet and Jeannie.
The rules are:- answer the five questions. At the end of the post tag 5 people by posting their names, then go to their blogs and leave them a comment letting them know they've been tagged and ask them to read your blog for the rules. Let the person who tagged you know when you've posted your answers.
Time consuming, but fun. TFL.

TAGGED

I've been tagged by Ann - here goes...

What was happening 10 years ago - was living in Scotland, still practicing as a nurse, had just returned from a holiday in Australia and totally fallen in love with the lifestyle, children were 15 and 17, and scrapbooking wasn't a word in my vocabulary.

Name 5 things to do today - gotta go to work, finalise stuff for my Cricut Club tomorrow (will post some later), play with my brand new expressions (just upgraded from the baby bug), play with the most beautiful child on the planet (DGD), and do some blogging - cool or wot!

Snacks I enjoy - cheese & tomato toasties, microwave popcorn, potato chips (healthy or wot!)

Things I'd do if I were a millionaire - pay off family mortgages, set up trust funds for grandchild(ren), build an even bigger house than the one I am building now - with dedicated scrapping ROOMS (to store all my stash) - can you buy time?

Places I have lived - this is one you shouldn't have asked - I grew up with a father in the Royal Air Force - here goes - born in Germany - then in order - Holland, Prestwick Scotland, Ochiltree Scotland, Ayr Scotland, Doncaster England, Singapore, Oxford England, West Ruislip England, Saltcoats Scotland, Perth Western Australia, where next?

Now I have to tag 5 people - will have to do this after work, gotta go..........

Eyelashes

Back to layouts of DGD - I think this photograph is adorable and just had to be scrapped!! I fringed the black strip of c/s at the bottom of the page to emulate the lashes, top left corner is stamped and embossed with silver, as is the title, although the photo doesn't show it very well. Page kept simple to highlight the photograph.
I have hand journalled this page, don't do it very often as I can't write in a straight line, but I appreciate how important our own handwriting is for the future...TFL

Cards

Thought I would post a few cards I have made recently. I only dabble in card making, scrapbooking is my passion.
These were made with beautiful Melissa Frances papers from the 'Thankful' and 'Ambient' ranges, and inspired by Melissa Phillips, at Lily Bean's Paperie (see link on my page) - her cards and other creations are beautiful. TFL.

Heroes

This is DS back in 1995, when we had a holiday in Blackpool, UK. We went to Madame Tussaud's, where he met Donatello. Boy was he stoked. They were definitely his childhood heroes!!
I cut around the photograph to give it definition, as the original background was way too dark (no digital camera then).
As DS is in the Royal Navy, back in the UK, I hope he gets to see this and knows I send my love.
Love Mum xx
He was over in Australia last January for my wedding and was handsome as in his kilt, will post a photo tomorrow.

Mum

Ooops, missed a post yesterday, it's quite time consuming all this blogging stuff isn't it. Excuses, excuses...
Anyway, continuing on the wedding theme, this is a layout of my late Mum, when she was about 19 or 20, round about 1956, before she married Dad and had little me!
Sadly, Mum died back in 1985, when my two children were little, so they have no memories of her....
I'm hoping through time to have lots of layouts of Mum, with journalling, to let them know how special she was, and for my DGD to learn about her great grandmother.
I've used Melissa Frances papers and acrylic stamps. Love all of the Melissa Frances papers, especially the 'Ambient' and 'Thankful' ranges - I'm thankful for the time I had with Mum, and still miss her everyday...

Darling Little Family

No layout today, thought I would post a favourite photo from my wedding last year - DD, DSIL and DGD. Daughter was my Matron of Honour, SonInLaw was Father of the Baby, and Rebekah was, well the most gorgeous one at the wedding, she stole my limelight, but I didn't mind a bit.
Pity you can't see the baby's dress in this photo, we bought it in Scotland when we were home, when she was three months old, and kept our fingers crossed it would fit her for the wedding - it did!
She is such a little doll...TFL

Flower Girl

Double page layout from my wedding last year, with Alexia as Flower Girl (re last post) and DD as my Matron of Honour. DH and I have been together for over ten years, but you know the old saying, 'once bitten...'
Anyway, we decided last year to tie the knot - grey hairs and wrinkles getting more numerous - so while we would still have a half decent wedding album to look at in years to come, we thought we had better do it now...LOL
I went to town with the flowers, well it is a flower girl page, it was fun to put together. DGD was five months old at the time, will post a photo from the wedding tomorrow. TFL

Special Friends

A layout of special friends of ours who live in Albany. The eldest daughter was born on DH's birthday, so she is pretty special to us, she was also flower girl at our wedding last year.
I love the softness of this layout with the black and white photo. TFL

Love

Love this layout of DH and I - one of those 'official, dressy up, posey' photo's from a cruise we were on back in 2006 - but it is one of my favourites.
My photography skills aren't too hot, as you can tell from this photo of the layout. Didn't use the flash, but still seem to have a haze over the layout photo. No mind. TFL

DAD

It was my Dad's birthday yesterday, was supposed to add this then, but as usual day to day life takes over...so "Happy Birthday Dad" Love you.
Wonder if he'll ever see this site, he says he is allergic to technology. I'm going over to Scotland in September, will have to bring him into the 21st century...watch this space.
I love this layout of me and my Dad, photo from 2005 when I was over in Scotland for DD and DSIL's wedding.
DSIL is Australian, but they got married in Scotland, full kilty wedding, I have done an album of the wedding, will post some in the future. TFL.

Please Granny...

A favourite layout of DGD. A very simple page using Urban Lily papers. Cut outs given the 3D effect with foam tape, very effective, and soooo cute! TFL.

Granddaughter

Layout of DGD (another one, hundreds to come!!! LOL). Photo's taken when she was 11 months old. The tiger in the photo was mine when I was a baby, as you can see from the black and white photo which I have put on the back of the tag tucked in behind granddaughters photo, I was also eleven months old. Baby Doll

Another late post, gotta get myself into gear...

Thanks for all your lovely comments on my blog, didn't expect that...love that there are folks out there visiting...I love wandering blog sites and have come across some crackers...there are some very VERY talented ladies out there...isn't the world a really wonderful place...full of really nice people...pity they never make the headlines...

Anyway, another layout of DGD...told you there would be a few, but she's just so gorgeous...and she is the first grandchild...spoilt rotten of course, and got us wrapped right around her little finger...the power of a baby...

I used a 12x12 piece of Bazzill cardstock and a piece of 12x12 scalloped Bazzill in the same colour to make this unusual layout...worked quite well.

I thought she looked just like one of those old (1970s) walkie talkie dolls in that little dress (so cute!). She was eight months old, and was walking by nine months....I know Brag, brag, LOL. I do have Granny rights to Brag. Enjoy. TFL.

CHIP!

Missed a post yesterday. Work has been full on for the last couple of days, very busy shop, and was just too tired...

Day off today, to catch up on housework (no time to scrap unfortunately), and work for the next three days, yep, Sat, Sun and Mon. Don't usually work Saturday and Monday, but the BOSS (Jenae) and colleague (Peta) are away enjoying themselves at the Scrapbook & Papercraft Expo in Brisbane and leaving the rest of us to do the hard stuff!!! LOL

I'm sure they'll bring us lots of yummy goodies from all the exhibitors new releases, and of course the warehouse outlets they're visiting (no jealousy here LOL).

Meanwhile, I thought I would post a layout I did when DGD was about seven months old, I think it's a pretty powerful photo - the intensity in her eyes - WOW! TFL.

Vintage

Late post tonight, was working today. This is a layout of my maternal Grandfather, who died when I was only six. I remember him vaguely from childhood, especially when he threatened to eat my pet goldfish, which I thought he had one morning, when he had sardines on toast! He obviously had a wicked sense of humour.

Note: You can click on the photo to enlarge it and see some of the detail.

Tigger

Busier day today, daughter and I went shopping this afternoon at Harbour Town in Perth City, leaving granddaughter with her daddy and grandpa. Wonderful shoe bargains to be had, and not a scrapbook store in sight!

Today's project, a quick card for a two year old using the adorable Baby Tigger cut from the Pooh Font Cricut cartridge - isn't he gorgeous!

Work tomorrow - in my favourite store. Bye for now.

Black & White

It's been a very quiet day here in Perth due to the Public Holiday. None of the shops open, so not much to do except laze about the house and do a little scrapping! Not that I'm complaining, of course.

Here's a beautiful black and white layout of DD and DGD when she was just a couple of weeks old.

Must phone my Dad tonight, he's in Scotland. Wonder if he'll be able to get access to a computer to view my Blog? Somehow don't think so, he's from a different generation, dinosaur's I think he calls it. Love him to bits. TFL

Cricut Recipes

A recent off-the-page project I finished was a recipe box, inspiration from my friend Sue, thanks Sue. She ran a class for a traditional recipe box, and I thought I could adapt it slightly to keep a track of my Cricut creations, both on page and off. Each 'recipe' card has the title of the project and the Cricut cuts used on that project, the cartridge used and the size of the cut. Really useful for my Cricut club. I'm happy with the result. TFL
